    Wow! We’ve Sold Out the Library Marketing and Communications Conference AGAIN!

    The Library Marketing and Communications Conference is sold out for another year! Even though we moved to a bigger space in 2018, the conference is already at full capacity. Thank you to everyone who has registered to a end. We look forward to seeing you in November!

    We will announce the conference schedule next week. We have 36 sessions across 8 tracks, featuring more than 50 speakers from across North America. Stay tuned!

    The Library Marketing and Communications Conference (LMCC) Planning Committee invites you to submit presentation proposals for consideration to our 4th Annual LMCC in St. Louis, Missouri. The conference will be held November 14-15, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch.

    Successful proposals will showcase the tried and true, the latest trends, and the best practices in marketing and communications. Provide practical tips and takeaways that can be immediately applied to any library’s communication and marketing efforts.

    We’re looking for speakers who have done this work long enough to have experiences and lessons to share. You should be able to discuss the theory behind your decisions, as well as your actions themselves, and your results. Ideally, your presentation will be applicable and transferable to other types and sizes of libraries.

    The deadline for submitting proposals for LMCC18 is May 25, 2018.

    Thank you to the more than 350 library professionals who attended LMCC17 and made it another successful conference! Huge thanks to our all-volunteer planning teams, to our partners at Amigos Library Services, and the staff   at the InterContinental in Dallas. But it’s on to 2018 and time for sharing big news!

    First – we have dates and a location for the 2018 LMCC! We’re moving to the Midwest for 2018:

    The 2018 Library Marketing and Communications Conference will be held in St. Louis, MO at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch on November 14-15

    More big news! We’re an official library organization!

    In case you’re one of our library marketing colleagues who couldn’t attend the conference in November 2017, you may have missed our big news. We revealed in Dallas, TX on November 16, 2017, that we had incorporated as the new not-for-profit Library Marketing Conference Group (LMCG).

    We have a board of volunteer directors, are incorporated in the state of Missouri, and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3  [nonprofit] organization. The LMCG will oversee and run the conference and further our mission of “promoting and supporting knowledge" and Conference planners named the inaugural LMCG board members: Jennifer Burke, president; Joan M. Barnes, vice president; Joan Petit, secretary; and Barbara Fullerton, treasurer. Additional board members will be recruited.

    Amigos Library Services, one of the largest library service networks in the nation with o ffices in Dallas, TX and St. Louis, MO, assisted and facilitated LMCG in its incorporation to become a 501(c)3 organization. In addition to helping the group incorporate, Amigos Library Services also acts as LMCG’s association management firm, facilitating, hosting, and supporting the Library Marketing and Communications Conference. Tracy Rochow Byerly, Amigos’ Chief Programs Officer, will act as liaison to LMCG.

    The LMCG and the LMCC planning committees are an all-volunteer effort and we thank all those who made our success possible. The Board intends to recruit additional volunteers for conference planning and as membership on the Board. We are welcoming a new conference chair for LMCC18, Christina Pryor, and send our enormous thanks to outgoing chair, Kathy Dempsey, as well as other volunteers moving on to other commitments.

    Christina is the Assistant Director and Community Health Education Coordinator at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library. She has experience chairing a conference (Missouri State Library Association) and she worked for Amigos Library Services as the Consulting and Education Services Manager and served as the Reference Manager for St. Louis County Library in Missouri. So she knows conference planning, our conference partner, and St. Louis. We look forward to our new partnership and continued success in 2018!
