Library marketing often means cranking out copy for a variety of promotional pieces. You’re likely writing blog posts, emails, staff communications, press releases, social media posts, talking points, and on and on and on…and writing is hard! But clear, concise text is essential as your library works to position itself in a world full of content.
In this preconference you’ll learn how to break through writer’s block and compose copy that connects with your specific audiences, on whatever channel you use. Find out how to master language and tone that aligns with your community, work keywords into your messages to boost SEO, write irresistible titles and subject lines, and decide what role ChatGPT can play in your writing. Participate in hands-on activities (that will be fun, not painful—we promise) and get real-time actionable feedback on your writing.

Presented by Angela Hursh. Angela leads an outstanding team of marketing and training professionals at NoveList, a company dedicated to helping libraries reach readers. She has also created courses on LearnwithNoveList.com designed to help library staff learn how to create effective marketing. And she is the author of the blog SuperLibraryMarketing.com and host of the YouTube series The Library Marketing Show. Before her job at NoveList, Angela led the content marketing team for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. She also has more than 20 years of experience as an Emmy-award-winning broadcast TV journalist.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Cancellations received by October 20, 2023, will be granted a 100% refund. Cancellations received after this date will only be granted a refund in the case of a medical emergency, which is defined as an event necessitating a visit to the emergency room and/or a hospital stay, or a death in the immediate family. Registrations are transferrable to other staff within the same organization.
